Mr. E. Juhani Jaske of FMT Equipment Corporation gave a paper "Axial and Circumferential Roll Measurement - One Key to Proper Roll Maintenance" by him and Mr. Dominic A. D'Amato at the ABTCP 40th Pulp and Paper International Congress in Sao Paulo, Brazil October 18, 2007.

Mr. Jaske has a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for the roll and roll grinder divisions of Farrel Company as Sales/Application Engineer for several years. He founded FMT Equipment Corporation 1985 and has given papers on roll measurement and tolerances at several paper industry conferences in the USA, Canada, Europe, and now in Brazil.

FMT Equipment Corporation, a developer and manufacturer of roll measuring and grinding technology, announces the availability of a paper that provides an in-depth report of roll tracking in a paper mill.

The paper by Darla Bryant, Roger Ragsdale, both of Ala-Pro, and Juhani Jaske of FMT, was covered in the article entitled "Roll Management Software" in the June 2005 issue of Paper Asia magazine.

June 2000

FMT Equipment Corporation said it received an order from Abitibi-Consolidated, Lufkin, Texas paper mill for the installation, controls retrofit and start-up of a large single wheel roll grinder, which was transferred to the Lufkin site from another paper mill. Abbott Machine will supply all on-site labor, CNC-controls retrofit, and electrics including AC motors. A new machine mounted roll caliper will be provided by PWT with FMT's RollTrack PC recording and display system. The RollTrack systems can be used to send a roll measurement report to the Abbott controls for roll shape correction.

There is a used machine mounted roll caliper for single wheel roll grinders available. It is in a good mechanical condition and can be retrofitted with the RollTrack recording and display system.
